I am excited to announce that I have joined the Horror Writers Association and am now officially a paid writer! I met the Seattle chapter at the Stanwood Book Festival this weekend and am looking forward to connecting with fellow writers and getting more involved with the community.

Speaking of community, the Bellingham Horror Book Club that I founded in June of this year has been going wonderfully (check out this Cascadia Daily article on book clubs that includes snippets from an interview with me!). I have had a blast meeting people who love to read and talk about books just as much as I do, and I’m overjoyed to see the club grow every day. As spooky season approaches, watch for announcements about the special club meeting I’m planning in October.

In other news:

  • A horror short story I finished editing this July will be published sometime in 2027
  • Work has begun on a new horror short story inspired by my time at this year’s Washington Midsummer Renaissance Fair
  • Progress is steadily being made on my debut horror novel after I completely scrapped an earlier draft (I’ve learned a lot from this process!)
